Master Teachers
Pinewood has the most SCISA Master Teachers!
The SCISA Master Teacher Program began in 2005. It is an affirmation of the prestige and rewards of the education profession; and bestows well-deserved recognition to SCISA Master Teachers who exhibit best practices in the classroom, and more importantly, a willingness to share and collaborate with other educators. The requirements are extensive. The first and most important being that the nominees must have a master’s degree and five years of experience in the classroom, or a bachelor's degree with a minimum of ten years in the classroom, along with multiple other qualifications set forth by SCISA.
In the 20 years of the program, 45 Pinewood teachers have been named SCISA Master Teachers. 22 SCISA Master Teachers are current Pinewood employees. This is almost triple that of any other school within SCISA's network of 120 schools.
