A Sense of Family

Volunteer Opportunities

Some of the first words our parents use to describe what they love best about Pinewood are “the sense of family here.” The Pinewood Parent Teacher Organization’s goal is to nurture and sustain that sense of family by enriching the Pinewood experience for our teachers, staff, students and their families in as many ways possible.

  • Volunteer Support: Volunteering is both a great way for parents to get to know Pinewood’s faculty and staff, and other families at the school; and allows teachers to focus their time on instruction.
  • Special Events: PTO both sponsors and provides volunteer assistance for many family events on campus, such as Trunk or Treat and Pastries with Parents, which offers a social outlet for students and families.
  • Grants: PTO grants assist with annual events and fulfill the requests of classroom teachers and student organizations.
  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation: PTO strives to make Pinewood's faculty and staff feel appreciated throughout the entire year by sponsoring monthly breakfasts as well as making sure that Teacher Appreciation Week is a school-wide celebration.

All Pinewood parents are invited to join the PTO in its endeavors. Our goal is for parents to be involved and help provide the best Pinewood experience possible for all! Questions? Contact PTO's Leadership Circle at pto@pinewoodprep.com.

Event Planning and Organization

With the help of parent volunteers and community sponsors, the school hosts several fundraising events, community service projects, and special academic competitions and programs. Events like the Pinewood Golf Classic and Auction Gala welcome parent volunteer assistance.

Governance

The highest level of support can be accomplished by serving on the Pinewood Board of Trustees. It is here that the Pinewood vision and mission are supported through strategic planning initiatives and capital campaigns. The Trustees are charged with maintaining excellence as the hallmark of Pinewood, and to ensure the financial stability of the school into the future.
