Schoolwide Studio Experience

The Lower School art curriculum at Pinewood is designed to develop and expand students’ knowledge of visual arts media, techniques, and processes in order to allow students to express ideas creatively.  The program incorporates a variety of instructional strategies for both 2-D and 3-D work which assist the students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development. Through drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, students find the artist within themselves.

The Middle and Upper School art curriculum at Pinewood is designed to develop and expand students’ knowledge of visual arts media, techniques, and processes in order to allow students to express ideas creatively.  The program incorporates a variety of instructional strategies for both 2-D and 3-D work. Through the application and knowledge of the elements and principles of design, students will show an aesthetic awareness of the connections among the content of visual arts, other disciplines, and everyday life.
