Bringing Parents, Teachers and Students Together
Some of the first words our parents use to describe what they love best about Pinewood are, “the sense of family here.” The PTO’s goal is to nurture and sustain that sense of family by enriching the Pinewood experience for our teachers, staff, students and their families in as many ways possible.
How the PTO helps our School
Providing volunteer opportunities at school. Volunteering is a great way for parents to get to know the faculty, staff, other families and the myriad of special events and extracurricular opportunities at our school.
Fundraising to provide those dollars not always available in the budget for extras in and outside the classroom. Recent purchases include the Marine Touch Tank, the natural structures in the kindergarten playground, SmartBoards, and most recently, iPads.
Providing a social outlet through free family events, such as the annual Homecoming Carnival, Haunted Hayride & Trunk or Treat, and Family Game Night.
We also provide grants to assist in annual events such as the Lower School Accelerated Reader Carnival, the Middle School Prom and Upper School speakers. We also award an Initiative Scholarship for graduating seniors.
Hosting and organizing Teacher/Staff appreciation events throughout the year.
The PTO also works with the school to organize donations for other non-profits, such as Dorchester Social Services, Goodwill Enterprises and Habitat for Humanity. We also operate PTO Cares, which offers volunteer assistance to our Pinewood families in times of crisis. Please stay involved in your school and help provide the best experience possible for your Pinewood years!
